In 1909, through an act of spirited generosity, the Vanderbilt family provided this impressive property as a gift to the people of Newport, Rhode Island. The mansion is one block from Thames Street, four Bowen's Wharf, half a mile from Touro Synagogue, one mile from the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino, and three miles from Fort Adams State Park.

    Hotel amenities include the lobby fireplace, flower-filled conservatory, billiards room, whirlpool, steam room, sauna, fitness area, and massage room. On-site dining is available through the hotel's award-winning chef and meals are complemented by an extensive fine wine collection.
